I agree with a lot of what this fellow has to say. One thing I have to add about the "respect for other hunters" would be something specific to my neck of the woods. Dog hunters. I grew up in the mountains of Virginia. Hunting with dogs, except for 'coon hunting, was very much frowned upon as unsportsmanlike, unethical, and just plain LAZY. Not to mention it ruins the meat.
Now I live near the Great Dismal Swamp in low lying flatland with vast areas of pine forests managed by timber companies and leased out to "hunt clubs". When I first moved here my girlfriend (now my wife) was an avid hunter who also recently moved here (from Wisconsin). She spent time in the woods (we have a few acres) before hunting season studying the deer habits, trails, and signs. She knew where they would be and when. Opening day she gets in the woods before dawn and waits where she knows the deer will be. Except the woods are in utter chaos with packs of dogs from the "hunt club" across the road. The dogs have GPS and radio location collars to track their every move around the hunt club property, as well as most neighboring property. The "hunters" sit in their trucks on the side of the road drinking coffee waiting for the dogs to drive a deer toward them. Any deer. "If it's brown it's down." is the mantra. When they see the dogs headed their way on the tracking monitor, out of the truck they come shotgun in hand.
It completely ruins the entire season for us "stalk/still" hunters. There are quite a few of us around, but none of us hunt any more. Unless you have a pack of dogs, thousands of dollars in gear, and a pricey "hunt club" membership, around here there won't be any venison in your freezer.
End of rant.

I don't know what to say, "dick heads" why would someone do that, if they need food it would be cheaper and easier to go to the supermarket. I think Randy is on to the problem, people trying to satisfy their Egos, low self esteem drives them to try and impress, it sad really, until they bring their shit to your backyard, then . . . maybe some kind of electronic countermeasures or . . .
