Had a dream the other night that I met Rex while he was setting up for a jam session. Funny, because I used to do that kind of thing for a sound/light group in my area once upon a time. I was excited to see him. Somehow the topic of the horrors of war and how we must avoid it came up. So, here I give two examples, from the First and Second Chechen Wars . These wars were bloody ones, and it is known that the Chechens had very little regard for the Russians and often tortured them to death. These were the stakes at which the Russians fought. These videos are of the First and Second Battles of Grozny, respectively, which began on New Years Eve 1995 and Christmas Day, 1999, respectively. (turn on annotations) I still don't know why I had this dream but I feel it is important to post it here. Let this be a lesson to us all: war is not something to be glorified. It is a sobering reality that must be avoided, especially here in the United States. If you have your own examples, be they videos or otherwise, feel free to post them.
