While sitting here pondering which of Rex's videos to watch again, I'm hearing some of my neighbors taking Bart Simpson's advice and blowing up a little bit of America-prematurely, I might add, in celebration of the Fourth of July.
It reminded my that earlier today I had posted a comment pertaining to SCOTUS not granting cert to Peruta v California. Elsewhere, I posted on the active shooter scare at the Army's Redstone Military base in Alabama, and how ridiculous it was that base personnel were told to run, hide, and as a last resort, fight.
At this moment, I'm thinking of how fortunate I am that I live in a country where, I'm free to say that the military higher ups seem to be more afraid of the troops than I am, and that despite the games being played in D. C., Chicago, California, and other places, I have hope that all of the Amendments as enumerated in the Bill of Rights will someday be taken seriously by the vast majority of this nation.
So, having said my piece, and even though it's a week earIy, I wish all of you a safe and "HAPPY FOURTH of JULY"!
