So, forgive me if this is written terribly, as I'm lying in bed wishing I was sleeping.
What do you guys think about nightmares? Tell me about a few of the craziest or most stunning, vivid ones you've had!
I'm intrigued by them of the late.

Not sure if this qualifies as a "nightmare", but here goes...
I have been out of the military (Navy) for a few years now, but I keep having a recurring dream every once in a while of being on base in Norfolk during a emergency general recall because the country is under attack. Don't remember many dreams but this one sticks in my head like it just happened. In the dream there was chaos as thousands of veterans show up at the piers and we tried to put crews together with the remaining active duty folks for the handful of ships that survived the initial attack so we could get them out to sea. There, they would be safer, and we could begin fighting back at whoever it was that had reduced the base and much of the surrounding area to rubble. It freaked me out. Lots more detail but I'll spare you the boredom.
Sheesh. The stuff the sleep deprived mind can come up with. It was all three of your criteria. Crazy. Stunning. Vivid. At least to me anyway. That what you're looking for? :)

I have a very strange dream that sticks with me. It was a time of war and people had developed camps to protect themselves. There was a meteor that hit the earth outside of the camp(burning Ball of fire) and I snuck out to see what happened. I seemed drawn to it. I got to the sight and inside this massive hole was a burning letter in an envelope. I recieved it and did not open it. Ran back to camp. I started recieveing communications from 'aliens' but they were friendly. They told me that the world would kill itself but that they could help. I had to start chain reactions. I would do something that would in turn cause a reaction that would produce helpful outcomes. At the end I am on a stage in front of millions of people. The aliens instructed me and said nobody must read my letter but me. It had to be hidden or it would disrupt the chain. I kept it hidden and as I went on stage I was to read the contests of the letter. As I head up to the podium I reach in my pocket and the letter falls open onto the stage. A man picks it up and looks at it.... I wake up. Every time.

Kacie, I'm curious to know how you feel when you wake up from your dream? I rarely remember my dreams. I supposed a psychiatrist would claim I'm repressing, but I think it's likely that they aren't as interesting as yours. OR, it could be that I don't want the aliens to get into my head and have control over me. ;-)

Mine has a similar ending. Just as I get settled in on the ship and at my watch station, I hear the BMOW call out, "Underway. Shift colors." I go back topside to have a look at the piers as they pass by. A young seaman looks at me and says very matter of factly, "We're never coming back from this one are we?" I reply, "Likely not." Or some similar exchange. It doesn't seem to follow a strict script. Then I wake up. Every. Dang. Time. Never get to see the outcome. Part of me wants to find out. Part of me doesn't.
Kacie I'm no dream expert, but yours is intriguing. I want to know what happens too!!
Geoff, I very rarely remember my dreams. Not out of the ordinary at all to not remember.
There is another kind of funny "nightmare-ish" dream that I have. Every time I have ever drank a certain brand of whiskey, I dream that a bear is trying to get me. Without fail. I've told friends about this one, and one even joked to me when he saw me sipping on a glass, "You going bear huntin' tonight?" "Yep." :)

Generally, I feel confused. I want to know if the world ends or what! Hahaha but I never get to know. It is funny because I do wake up questioning if I was working doe the right team, and usually I decide that I am.
Copperhead: your dream is fantastic! Is it strange that as I read it a grainy, Hollywood style movie appears in my mind? When I follow your story, I see it happening in the past. Strange, as there's no real reason for that.

Oh man guys, I had another one and it was nuts.
Talk about horror, here's my dream:
My family was murdered and I was captured and they were trying to drug me and pin the murders on me - THEN sell me to the sex trade.
I escaped by stabbing the predator, fleeing into tall grass, army crawling, and hiding under a vehicle.
Woke up at that point.
Yeesh.

Yikes! Hope in your nightmare you didn't see your family being murdered.
I'm no dream expert, nor do I have any training in analytical psychology. My college major was experimental psychology, but my favorite class was Deviant Behavior. Yes, truly!
Haven't "played doctor" in quite some time, but let's see what we can come up with.
Do you have your dreams around the same time of the week/month? Any pattern at all that you can think of?
Is there more stress in your life than usual?
How long before bedtime you do have your last meal, and what the heck are you eating??!!?? ;-) Or, like Copperhead, drinking? It doesn't have to be an adult libation, either!
Here's my advice, which should be worth exactly what you are paying for it... If you are having these dreams after eating a particular meal, or eating at a particular time, try changing that variable.
If these dreams come when your other projects are starting to stress you a bit, and/or your hormonal cycle is particularly active, perhaps a nice herbal tea or something might help.
If, on the other hand, these dreams only occur shortly after participating in a podcast, I say take one for the team and keep on truckin'! It's good to have a woman offering her perspective!
One last thought. If there is no pattern that you can see, chalk it up to random electrical patterns in your brain and don't let it ruin your Kacie Day. :-D!

Oh yeah, I finally remembered one of my dreams. Nowhere near as disconcerting as any of yours, but here goes.
My dream was that I was eating a particularly rubbery pretzel. Woke up to find I was chewing on my mouth guard.
I figured that one out in about 30 seconds. I cracked a tooth from grinding my teeth at night, hence the mouth guard. After all was said and done, my out of pocket expenses were what I had planned on using to take a couple of firearms training classes this year. Yep, I was fairly aggravated.
Simple dreams for a simple mind. ;-)

Hey it's ONLY Knob Creek Bourbon that does it! I've tried a few others and they don't work. Sometimes I'm just game for a crazy dream. Kacie sounds like she's having some pretty interesting ones, albeit distressing. I haven't had any crazy dreams in a while. Could be that I'm out of Knob Creek :)
In the Old Testament a good deal of weight was placed on dreams. Often times to illustrate something going on in you life to put it in a different light, or as a warning, or prophetic dreams. Either way, when folk in the Bible had vivid dreams, they took it seriously. More importantly, they talked about it.

Copperhead,
Perhaps people's dreams have greater meaning than what I implied, but only the dreamer can truly find the meaning in their dreams.
My hope in my post, especially by mentioning you, was to give poor Kacie a bit of a laugh. A dream like that has to be very discomforting.
And I reiterate, my advice is worth what she paid for it, absolutely zip!
By the by, I really know nothing of Knob Creek. Is it a premium bourbon?

Hey I got a chuckle out of it too. Knob Creek is somewhere in the middle. Definitely not "well whiskey", but no single barrel either.

Dang Kacie has some scary vivid dreams! And Rex keeps throwing jokes about her being Mkultra... uh oh.. Starting to see a conspiracy theory here. Did she and super delta ranger ninja seal Rex bust out of a remote viewer shadow compound somewhere? Still working on how Lew fits in there though. Perhaps he was a handler who wasn't quite convinced he was doing the right thing?

Plissken,
I've been thinking about your comment off and on since you posted it, and have decided that your idea has merit, but the details are a bit off.
Rex and Lew say they met in college, right? Rex also says that he spent some time living on a beach in California. I have the impression that Rex is maybe ten years older than Lew and met him in school after Rex's other adventures.
While furthering his formal education, Rex was contacted by an unnamed entity (or agency) and tasked with vetting Lew as a replacement for himself, in whatever it was Rex did that he doesn't talk about.
Kacie came into the picture as she was the "facillitator" for said entity (or agency) but saw the goodness in Rex and Lew and joined the "team".
Or... they all met when Rex and Lew were dragged to a fashion show Kacie was in and the next thing we know, RexReviews.org is born!
OR... Kacie answered an ad asking for a webmaster.
OR... Kacie knew a friend of a friend...
After hearing about Kacie's childhood experience with the pentagram, pondering the Secret of the Grays, and the storm spoken of in the last podcast, I'm kinda thinking I'm full of the stuff that comes from the south end of a cow facing north!! :-D

I had a very strange dream last night, after the wife informed me that I was going to have to rearrange a spare bedroom so that she could start her flowers in there. Before you ask if we have a garage or basement, let me assure you that we do, but wanting to stay married, I didn't suggest those areas.
So anywho, we were in our house, but not one that I recognized. An electrician(?) noticed a wasp that he took to be on the way out of this existence on the floor and picked it up, getting stung, of course.
The wasp, being rejuvenated, flies around and around, while myriad other tradesmen- who materialize seemingly out of the blue, offer advise and assistance. The stung feller states that all is well, as he has removed the stinger and the little offender will surely die, post haste. Silly man. I'm the next one on the little rascal's hit list, and am stung in the palm of my left hand. Let me assure you that there was one less wasp in the world shortly thereafter!
Now to the strange part. My palm swelled, buy not by more than maybe the thickness of a AAA battery, and only the diameter of a watch battery.
I pressed on the area and blood and yellow puss oozed in an amount to fill a SOLO cup! Oh, did I forget to tell you this dream was gross, too? Sorry. It gets even stranger.
After the gross stuff is finished, real honest to goodness rice oozes out. Then Brazil nuts, and big ones, too! Oddly, my hand now looks like the plastic bag nuts are packaged in, and I can literally see the writing on the other side of my hand, just like I was looking through the bag!
Any thoughts or comments, beside never again to post one of my dreams? :-D
