For those who haven't yet caught up on the podcasts, Rex and crew discussed this very topic a few months back.
To my way of thinking, there's very little upside and huge potential for abuse.
Sure, it would be nice to get lunch with the "wave of your hand", but what do you say when the boss has activated the tracking device and wants to know why you and a co-worker spent nearly all of your lunch in the broom closet? :-)
Or worse, what do you say when they question why you spend your time away from work associating with groups your company finds objectionable-and reports you to the government?
Mankind is being herded like cattle.
The powers that be are very good with propaganda Nothing new I guess, but the more you notice the easier it gets to see the B.S.
I remember setting in Church when I was young hearing the hell fire and brimstone messages. (You don't hear them anymore) I wonder how they would be able to control the people enough to take a mark halfway thru the 7 year tribulation. Well I don't wonder anymore. With the advancement of Technology it is possible now.
Any time I see a new technology like this, my test for whether or not technology is good for us, "How would Hitler have used this?" Just think of what Nazi Germany could have done with smartphones, GPS tracking, Facebook, RFID implants, EZPass, etc. It's pretty scary.
I was never one of those guys lucky enough to convince a lass to go in the broom closet anyway...
I danged near snotted my morning java! WWHD-What Woulld Hilter Do, as an acid test is something that had never crossed my mind! It's a good thing that I hadn't planned on going back to sleep anytime soon!
And, as if we didn't have enough to wonder about, here's one more item of interest.

I'm pretty sure that elsewhere on the forum I mentioned my thoughts on the pros and cons of using technology. So the best we can do, if we want the max benefit, is to keep as good a watch as we can on our "leaders", spread the word on what they might be up to, and hold them accountable for their actions.
I'm familiar with that piece of kit. Here is another can of worms for you, and this is an issue I feel just as strongly about as the 2nd Amendment. As has been stated before, the purpose of 2A is to put the People on equal footing with the government. Technology, RF tech in particular, is another area where the People should be on equal footing but they are not. My feeling is, if you don't want to be monitored, don't communicate via radio waves. I think if the government can have that kind of tech, why should a citizen be denied it? The FCC has strict regulations on radio receivers, scanners, and the like. It is illegal to make, sell, or possess a piece of gear that can receive on cellular frequencies in the US. Why? Because they don't want anyone eavesdropping. Do as I say, not as I do. Right?
Radio waves of any kind are fair game to be listened to by anyone. Keep that in mind.
And yes, my acid test for any tech is exactly that. WWHD with it.
