Howdy Mr. Rex and crew,
Ok. No more innuendo. I've heard you kinda skirt the issue a couple of times without any follow-up or clarification. I've heard some similar insinuations from James Yeager, and now I've noticed John Mcquay is setting up a podcast deal as well. I'm seriously intrigued by this and wish to get some real facts on the matter. Do you have any suggestions on how we, the general public, can assist you in combating censorship if it really exists.
Yes >.<
I think the best way to help stop the censorship and help from the bottom up is to get more people involved in shooting in general. The more people there are involved the less effect regulations, censorship, and demonization will have. I am partially responsible for finding good homes for at least ten AR-15 rifles. New shooters love them! A couple hours and some ammo is usually all it takes to whet their appetite. I don't think my little pony and I are terribly good at proseletizing. If all the gun owners went out and got someone into shooting, it wouldnt take long before any legislation, censorship, or demonization would be useless. We may already be approaching that critical mass, but don't stop!
Speaking in regards to the online community, Liking and sharing really do help a lot. Rex could make an amazing video that got 500,000 views in just a couple hours, and it would not hit the general youtube trending list. They save that for CNN special reports and cat videos. However, I think that is ok. I feel like the slow building momentum of personal references will win out in the long run. Sharing Rex's video on muzzle velocity variation in a facebook group where someone is asking why their 7mm mag always seems to shoot high after a few rounds will send lots of interested viewers to the channel. If they like the video and watch the sniper 101 playlist and subsribe eventually, thats a big win. There isn't much that can be done to squash these organic references...yet.
So, sharing videos and podcast episodes, participating on social media and forums, and in the comments on youtube actually does help undermine the big G and their agenda to supress all things good in the world.
Plissken, we are on the same page with bringing in new shooters and educating them along the way. Been doing the AR15 thing for a couple dozen years. I've even progressed to helping new shooters with reloading, DIY AR15 builds, and showing showing newbies how to mill 80% receivers and not-a-glock 19s. Probably the reason I am so intrigued the Rex project is that he (and crew) are providing extremely valuable information in a clear and concise fashion.....very kewl. I have personally learned a great deal from the sniper 101 series and I'm already shooting out to 550 yds with my ARs. Now I'm looking for a longer range to shoot at and contemplating something kewl in 6.5 CR. I am grateful for the knowledge put forth here and plan to to pass this experience on as I become proficient.
OK. I'm off to local facebook to share some links back to my youtube favorites. I really don't like facebook.....really, really....but I guess it's for a good cause.
