Outstanding podcast this week. I like the way you guys just kick stuff around. It's easy to just grab a cup of joe and sit at my kitchen table and feel like I'm right there in the conversation. Id' gladly chip in a few bucks here and there to help support if that is the way you go. BBQ tomorrow night by the way! Question: Doesn't it make sense for most shooters to zero their weapons (AR-15 type calibres) to Maximum Point Blank Range? If we think of theses guns as 300 yard guns which is how I view them when considering their terminal ballistics, it just doesn't make a lot of sense to worry about tactical type reticles. Why not a duplex type reticle zero'd to MPBR? I'm looking at this from a defense of liberty perspective I suppose. If I had that one gun I had to grab, why wouldn't I set if up for the most likely engagement range, which is in my mind sub 300 yards. I'm currently experimenting with this idea utilizing a .308 bolt action scout rifle. Perhaps a larger discussion of MPBR to make sure I am understanding the concept. Thank you for your consideration. Would like your thoughts on this if you get a chance.

Here's a pretty good explanation of why you should use Maximum Point Blank Range for your zero, at least from a hunter's perspective. http://www.rmvh.com/MPBR.htm
Much depends on how flat a trajectory you're going to get out of your bullet, and .223 and 5.56 bullets are not known for having high BCs.
As the author says, plug in your bullet, environment, and MV and see if it makes sense for you in the application you speak of.
Here's another take on the subject, more in line with defending Hearth and home.
That's a great article, thanks for posting.
You're welcome! Or, as Kacie's generation would say, "Not a problem"!
