Rex,
I have an Atholon Argos 6x24x50 on my RAP in 6.5 CM with 20" barrel. So far I have about 300 rounds down range with this combo and have had no issues. The glass is good ( not SB or NF quality but good non the less). I have done multiple ladder tests on it at 50, 100, 200, and 300 rounds with very consistant results. I feel for the price It is a very good scope and have seen some reviews saying it is as good as the NXS. I would love to see a Rex review on this optic and get your opinion on it. With a price line of 323-400 it seems to be a great scope for the money.
I Have been interested in this Scope as well, but have been a little reserved in making a purchase. How reliable and rugged is this scope?
Super happy with it. After 1000 rnds still no zero loss, and it has been put through the wringer. no glass discoloration or fogging noted. I did by the sun shade and it made a world of difference for a 25 dollar price. No zero stop but a properly sized washer did the trick. For a person with Bentley taste and a KIA budget it am very satisfied. Well worth the money in my humble opinion.
Thanks for sharing!
Shameless plug: if you are looking at buying a Athlon argos btr I would love to have your business.
Redbeard, are you an authorized dealer? If so, what's your business/ web address? I am new in the rifle shooting sport. I've watched all Rex's videos and read the Army FM 23-10. The head knowledge is there and I'm starting to practice what I've learned. I threw a Primary Arms 4-14 Orion reticle scope on my T/C Compass .308. It shoots .75" groups using Hornady Superformance SST box ammo. Good enough for now! I got good enough with basic marksmanship to shoot the heart out of a doe 305 yards this Fall. Now, I'm ready to start practicing dialing turrets now and work my way up to 1000 yards. I think I can do it with this specific rifle. Time will tell. Anyway, I don't have a lot of $$$ to spare for glass. The Atlon Argos will fit the bill... even if it only lasts a few years. By then, Ill have more $$$ to invest in a precision rifle and glass. Anyway, let me know if you're a dealer. Thanks
