I just ordered the 9-36x44 35mm Spyder FFP Mil/Mil, MP-8 Xtreme X1 ILLUM. I got what seems like a great deal from Val over the phone. I was trying to decide between that one and the 6-24x56 model but I went ahead and ordered the larger zoom with the sacrifice of the larger objective lens. I usually shoot alone and I love to hunt for game at mid to long range rather than being up close. I say that because I don't want to carry a spotting scope (or buy an expensive one with a good lens) or binos. With a 35 mm tube I figured I wouldn't be losing too much light, and from what I've been told, the glass is pretty darn good. It seems like a great alternative to the recon or the crusader for guys like me that don't quite have the funds for the bigger ones. The problem is that I haven't really heard much about the spyder and was wondering if anyone out there could give some insight/opinions? I don't get offended if anyone disagrees with my purchase choices, so please, let me know what you guys think. Thanks for all the great tutorials Rex and friends!
Rex, during your YouTube sniper classes you said the SWFA SS was a good scope to start with for the price. It has been a number of years since you made that recommendation, is there any more that you could recommend? Thanks
