I recently bought a Savage FCP-SR in .308. I am a member of a shoot club that has a 400 and 600 yard ranges. Which I plan on staying at those ranges with this rifle.
I bought a Primary Arms 3-18x50mm FFP Rifle Scope with the Illuminated ACSS HUD DMR .308 Reticle, which I have not received due to being on back order. I am being told that I should get it at the end of the month. However I found the Athlon Optics Argos BTR Riflescope, 8-34 x 56, FFP, 30 mm Tube, Illuminated APMR MIL Reticle on Optics planet for a lower price.
I am trying to stay under $500 dollars a scope. I've watched Rex's reviews on the Primary Arms 4-14x44mm, which which helped me on buying the 3-18x50mm.
I don't know if I should just wait for the PA one or cancel the order and buy the Athlon. I've heard good and bad from both.
Any help/advice would be appreciated.
3-18 is a good range of magnification for The distances and cartridge.
Another consideration is field of view. You should have a better field of view with the PA than the Athlon.
Finally, several folks have commented recently on the RX Alumni fake book page about troubl they’ve had with Optics Planet’s slow delivery and less than stellar customer service.
I've heard the same thing about Optics planet. I haven't bought anything from them before. Thanks for the advice!
Certainly!
