Well I finally got my spotting scope and tripod. I went with the new generation Vortex Razor HD 85mm angled spotting scope. I’d like to thank BallistcXLR for turning me on to this scope. The mil reticle eye piece is not yet availble. I’ve heard summer, so fingers crossed I can get one before the RX18 Live Fire at the end of June in PA. I got it from SWFA, waited for the Tax Sale for the 15% off. The tripod is from a little outfit called Tactical Tripod. It is specifically designed for shooting prone. It is very lite, sturdy and can get the scope very low. It also packs very small.

That may be just what I'm looking for in a tripod! Introduce yourself to me in June. Hint-I'll probably be wearing a T-shirt the will drive the anti gunners nuts. ;-)
You mean like this?
Very nice! But this suits my personality better.
I spoke with Vortex today and they said the ranging eyepieces for the new generation of Razor spotting scopes has been delayed to January 2019. Apparently the first implementation suckec so they had to start over.
It stinks that they have to delay the release of the eyepiece, but good on them that they didn't put some POS on the market! But now I'm wondering how much goes in to making a spotting scope, so it's off to YouTube to see what I can find!
By the way, there are at least four of us staying at the Quality Inn, located at 13015 Ferguson Valley Road, and getting there Tuesday eve. I should have remembered to say something sooner! Look us up if you're going to be there Tuesday and we'll probably be getting reaquainted sometime after 6.

Both the scope and tripod were superb at the RX Live Fire in PA. One of the other shooters even came up with an idea to have the scope and range finder accessible at the same time while prone and turning your head. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ll post pictures if I’m successful.
Ironic that we both wore our non PC shirts the same day, no?
It was great meeting you!
