Hi All,
If you guys go to the Precision Rifle Series rule book (see link, page 21), then review the "approved scope list" I'm a little confused about why I'm not seeing more variability/brands ... especially when you consider the production class has a budget up to $2,000.
Rule book here:

Anyone else encountered this? Not sure I understand why IOR Valdada or US Optics aren't on the list, for example. Also weird that even within those brands on the list, like Vortex, I don't see the PST line.
So, do you HAVE to get these or you're not able to compete??
Thanks in advance for input, Scott
Scott,
I'm not ready to compete yet, but sure would like to give it a whirl soon.
On page 19," Appendix 3: Production Division Approved Equipment List The following rifles and optics have been approved for the PRS Production Division. If there are rifles or optics that you feel meet all PRS requirements but are not listed, please contact us at info@precisionrifleseries.com so we can make a determination and either add it to the list or inform you that it does not meet the requirements These lists are in no way an endorsement for any of the companies or their products listed below. "
I'd say the safest bet is to contact them and see what they say. If you have a scope that meets the cost threshold and they say no, ask why.
My thought is that with the vast number of optics out there, they may not have tried to include them all.
Have you heard about the National Rifle League? It sounds interesting, also.

The 6.5 Guys did a video on the league from Shot Show 2017 on YouTube.
Scott,
Did you ever find the answer to your question?
Hey Geoff, after attending RX 17, I realized just how serious (read: intense) those competitors are in PRS. Paul McCoy of PMAC Precision did a great job passing on those nuggets that Rex promised would be part of the program. Funny thing is, put a little grease camo on Paul's face and that dude could be a member of Seal Team 6. my point is I dont think I can run with those types and my interest in PRS is diminishing. So, after all that I decided to get the best possible scope for my 1,000 yard efforts and ponied up for a IOR Valdada Recon 4-28x50 and shattered through the $2000 limit for sure. Thanks for following up and hope to meet you someday.
regards,
Scott
Scott,
Thanks for the reply! If I have my way, perhaps we'll meet at one of Rex's reunions.
Let us know how the Recon works out!
PRS is an organization that makes the best rifle and gives to the army also trained the people. Upon this people start to giving trustmypaper reviews of this and take it to close for always.
