Hi, so new to the long range shooting and currently building a rig out of an old Rem 700 chambered in 7mm rem mag. Would like to end up at one mile when all done is my goal however it will take time to get there and would mostly do 1000 meters. I am looking for a scope in the $1500 to $2000 range. I was looking at the SWFA SS 5-20 HD since that magnification range should get me out to a mile when i get there or should i look towards the US Optics B10 1-10 for the time being and then purchase another down the road? The reason i brought up the B10 is because i don't see me hitting a mile for a while and getting a great optic. Is there another optic in that price range that will track well, along with great glass, and will let me reach to a mile?

Check out the Steiner options and IOR valdada. Also a good contender of recent is the Primary Arms Platinum DEKA. I dig SWFA, but I'm not sure they present as much value as the original fixed 10 with their HD line, they seem to be charging full price for what they offer in the variable configurations.
