It looks like Weaver may be discontinuing this scope. I have searched for reviews, but have come up empty handed. Is anyone using this or have any insight? My optics budget is $800 right now and there is a sale on the Weaver. Either this or save up for a few months for a Burris XTR II.

I don't have any experience with either, but before you make your choice, what's your application? What rifle are you going to mount the scope on? How long has the Weaver been in production? Why is it being discontinued?
It's been a bit over four years since he posted this video, but I suggest you watch-or rewatch- this review from Rex. https://youtu.be/pwG-D0HjCBQ?list=PLJUaiRIEduNXoal2_PkBZi0vDCIcEPxUn
Also, take a look at his previous videos on scope features and quality.
My personal thoughts are that if you can't find any reviews and the scope is being discontinued-especially if it's been out just a couple of years, I'd steer clear.
My first magnified optic was bought before I discovered Rex's Reviews. It was sent back to the factory for repairs, and then sold when it needed to be fixed again for the same problem. The new owner thinks it's working now.
Tikka CTR 6.5 Creedmoor. 24" barrel. Long range target shooting. I am looking for someone who has run a box test and utilized the Weaver. The Burris has plenty of reviews and is a proven performer. Both FFP, Mil/Mil scopes, so I am looking for real life experience with durability ad repeat-ability. I have a SWFA 10X42 for now, but need some magnification for my aging eyes.
What is the Max distance you plan on shooting? I have not Heard of us (the US Military) using a Weaver since Carlos Hathcocks days, and they switched shortly after to the) Weaver is an ok sporting/ hunting scope, on the lower end. What is your main application is going to be for this scope? If $800.00 is your top dollar (if your married thats probably top dollar) some well known Companies you may want to consider are SWFA (#1 pick if you want a tactical scope), others may include Vortex, and Meopta (very popular in Europe), or Leupold to name a few. $800.00 or less for a tactical scope, is not an easy feat, but if does not have to be a tactical then there are options. You are better off if you stay with SWFA (if your wanting a tactical application) in that price range. For a few hundred dollars more you step into a NF SHV (Shooter Hunter Varminter) Series if you do not need a tactical scope. (I'm not a huge fan of NF but they have really decent glass and track very well.) I would highly recommend a US Optics, if you can save a bit more and wait (great scope highly under rated and not well known out side of professional shooting groups/organizations). If you are looking for a Long Range Scope, some other considerations might be a Varmint Scope. Bottom line comes down to application.
For 800 dollars you could take a look at the ior 10x42-30mm it's a rex pick at right around $795.00
