Hello all, I've signed up for the november live fire and will be flying into DFW airport. I have read through the list of required equipment but have run into a potential issue. The class requires 250 rounds of ammunition, however my airline limits you to 11 lbs of ammo. Has anyone run into this issue before? As a side note I will be flying from the less than gun friendly state of New Jersey. Thanks eveyone.

Call either FedEx or UPS and check into exactly what you need to do to ship your ammo.
Whatever you do, do NOT try to ship from a UPS Store without checking first.
It seems that the stores are franchised and the owner is free to discriminate against pro 2A folks as they wish. I found out when I tried to send a scope back for repair. The manager insisted that it was a firearm and would not accept it! Called a different store and it was no problem at all.

Good luck and have fun!
Does anyone know where the best place to ship the ammo to would be? Is anyone Driving to the class that would be willing to have my ammo shipped to them?
I suspect that you can ship it to yourself, C/O whatever hotel/motel you've booked. But as always, call and ask.
I am going to the September class so won't be at that one. However if you want to ship it to me I would be willing to bring it out there for you. I live in the area so not a big deal for me. If interested I will give you my address.
