I noticed it was mentioned in the last live Q&A and I just wanted to touch on it for those who are not Texans and maybe don't know the deal. Texas is a shall-issue state for CCW or CHL (concealed handgun license) as it is called here. Before carrying here I would check to ensure Texas has an agreement with your state or recognizes your permit as valid in Texas. Texas has basically three different signs you need to look out for. The first is the 30.06. That is a no go for concealed carry if there is one of those posted you should not carry into that facility. The second is a 30.07 and that is specifically for prohibiting open carry. The last one is a 51% sign. These are most commonly found in bars and restaurants that serve over 50% of their revenue in alcohol sales. Those areas are prohibited for carry for obvious reasons. All of those signs are readily available for viewing on the internet. I have been to the Grapevine Bass Pro in the last few weeks and they have no signage posted that I saw, however if you are planning to stay at the attached Embassy Suites in Grapevine I am told they do have a 30.07 sign prohibiting open carry. They are not listed as having a 30.06 concealed carry sign, but I would note that other Embassy Suites in the area do prohibit concealed carry. There is an excellent website here that lists the properties that prohibit carry. It is called Texas3006.com and it is a good resource for user posted reports of different signage. Please note that I am not a lawyer or a self proclaimed concealed carry expert. Do your own research and consult local law enforcement if you are unsure about the law. Be safe and carry smart.
