Anyone have any expierence with this spotting scope good or bad? Id much perfer to put dollars into a quality rifle scope and buy something a little more affordable in the spotting scope area. Ive seen really good reviews on Yotube and mostly good reviews across the web. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also any recommendations for a different spotting scope with a Mil ret would greatly be appreciated as well.

I hope you find someone who got to use one beyond 300 meters, but the instructor at a course I took was fairly impressed with what you get for the money. At 300m, it was fine.
John McQuay of 8541 Tactical did a piece on the 8-40x60 a few years back, but I can't find a follow-up on it.
Very few companies make spotting scopes with reticles in them any more, unless you want to pay big bucks, as I'm sure you know.
I got lucky and found a refurbished Vortex spotting scope and a mil reticle eyepiece at my local Cabelas Bargain Cave.
I agree. I’ve loooked at several not containing a reticle as well. I also came across a review with 8541 Tactical and haven’t seen a follow up either. There was another gentleman that has a channel on YouTube called Vaughn precision that did a review on it and was showing what some tress looked like out to 700. I was pretty impressed for the price. I do like the vortex but they have discontinued the reticle eyepiece. I’ll keep searching and try to make the best informed decision I can. Thanks for the response!
I've been a little scatter brained lately, but if I recall correctly, Vortex MAY be offering a mil reticle eyepiece in the not too distanct future. You might want to contact them and see if the rumor is true.
I've forgotten where I heard it, though, so don't be surprised if they say no.
If enough folks bug them about it, they may take the hint and start making them.
We had one at the first RX live fire. I was impressed with it. Granted it wasn't as good as the Valdada that was there, but for 450 bucks it is a damn good scope. Worked better than any other scope out there but that one. I bought one after that class, have been happy with it. Someday I will buy a Valdada but until then this will do me just fine.
I have the cheaper one. Its decent for a sub $500 spotter. It's a bit hard to fine tune the focus past 22 power in my experience, however even shooting at 1100 yds with it I can still make out the hits on my target at 20 power. A year ago, it was the only sub $1k spotter I could find with FFP milhash reticle, that may have changed recently. I am happy with it overall and would recommend to anyone who doesn't want to spend more than a grand .
And, if you happen to pay close attention to the After action Report 8541 Tactical did on the recent Guardian Long Range shoot, you'll see that he's still using the Bushnell.
