I'm in the process of building a set of rifles one percision bolt action, and one semi auto dmr battle rifle. For my brother and I we have been working and on our system and training. Current rifles are in 308 a remington 700 sps aac SD and an armalite sass both supressed looking add thermal clip on sights.
But the only problem is that they are heavy and hard to use in close proximity. I have been looking at stepping down to the 6. 5 grendel just to save weight and mobility. But at the same time I am wondering if it's worth the loss of power and ammo congruence with the known world. Any guidance from the wiser folks on here cause I'm at a loss. Weight and size vrs power and ammo congruence.
If it is for defense stay with 308 for Target only go with 6.5 Creed more. The .308 is solid inside 800m in my opinion. You can connect on man sized Targets at that range with a standard ar10. So maybe two ar10s with dmr scope with light weight components would be best. If your using them for defense imo
